Even Techies Travel

Last week I attended the TechCrunch event that was co-sponsored by Redfin, Farecast and TripHub and, while talking about TripHub's group planning tools with attendees, was encouraged to hear how many different types of group trips are out there waiting to be streamlined, simplified, and organized in one central hub. TripHub was created just for that purpose, and the reception at the event was positive (and energetic).

Here are some of the comments I heard (names omitted to protect the innocent):

  • A group of friends are planning a trip to Mexico and trying to coordinate efficiently.
  • An attendee was particularly interested in the spa vacation ideas TripHub recommends.
  • Had an attendee known about TripHub months ago, he would have used it for a group trip with friends.
  • A woman from Boston was encouraged that, although TripHub is located in Seattle, anyone around the country can use the site's free planning tools for a group trip. TripHub isn't restricted to one destination.

If you were there and have any other comments, feel free to chime in.

Here's John Cook's write-up at the Seattle P-I. Even better, check out a TripHub photo from the TechCrunch event in Josh Herst's recent blog post (titled "And Celebrate Together").
